What's the state of the art in storage while away from home? Is ImageTank still where it's at, or are there better-priced clones available? How about iPod adapters? Anything decent there?

Many thanks,

regards,

I use a Hyperdrive color space o (http://www.hyperdrive.com/HyperDrive-COLORSPACE-O-s/42.htm). Mine is 160GB which has the space needed for a long long time. I also have 15 CF card and try not to format a card unless I really need to. This way I keep a Hard drive based backup and the files on flash cards just in case I lose one.

Ditto on the hyperdrives. They have several models to choose from depending on your preferences. Also, mleone's backup method is great. Use the hyperdrive to backup your cards and keep the cards intact until you download them. This way you always have two copies for safety reasons.

Thanks for the pointer - I'll have a look.

An unexpected diary clash has meant that I'll be in a photo-rich environment for a week while the family laptop is committed somewhere else!

Also I try to keep hyperdrive and cards a part. What I mean is I don't carry the hyperdrive in my bag with me all day (or in the same when flying), it stays at the hotel or car and I only keep the cards with me. In case I lose my bag or something happens to hyperdrive I still have one copy of files safe.
