Do you mean the ones you get free with L lenses?

Could be, but i got a hard case with mine. i'm guessing as they are free you'll not be able to buy them?

Is that the cases in the picture you're after then?

Try contacting a good Canon pro dealer, or give a repair centre (like Fixation in London) a ring. They are available separately, but I find I don't use them. The one I have is in the box in the loft - I use Lowepro Lens Case products instead, which I find much more practical as well as better padded.

Good point, I don't use mine either. I wonder how many of us actually do? I bet Canon could save a whole heap of cash or make lenses cheaper by actually not giving them away free and selling them as extras instead.

Right those white ones come with some of the white lenses, the other L lenses come with a soft blue grey pouch.
The pouch is only good to stop lenses knocking together in a proper bag without dividers.
The white ones are much better and from memory have a belt loop. They have minimal protective padding however and the zips have no flap so the rain and dust resistance is minimal. You can get the pouches from a Canon dealer so you can probably get the white bags if you want.
If you want separate lenses case I suggest you look at the Lowepro line which will at least offer some protection.

Are you talking about the ones for the super telephotos?
They show up from time to time on eBay, from a seller (I think) from Hong Kong. They go for around $170 USD.
IIRC these lenses only come with the trunk. The soft case is purely accessory. They look like they're good for carrying the lens while you're in the field - that trunk sure isn't good for that unless you have someone else along to carry it. :D

I have one that came with the 300/4L IS but no hard case came with it, you probably get a hard case with the really big lenses. As I say it does not give good protection so I would not wast money on one.

Paul... as ToolCoolGuy says above, the white lens bags you refer to are sometimes available from an e-bay dealer in Hong Kong.
A very good (and non-white) alternative is the Think Tank Glass Taxi. It is very compact, well-padded and will hold a 300mm with body attached or a 400mm on its own. Well worth a look:

Available from Snapper Stuff (the importer), Fixation and Jacobs in the UK.
Cheers!

As a matter of fact, I just got the Glass Taxi on Sunday to replace my Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 AW. The Glass Taxi is a great alternative if you're not hung up on having the Canon logo on the bag. Keep in mind it won't handle the 600mm, where the Canon bags are specific - one for the 400 f2.8, one for the 500 f4, and one for the 600 f4.

Thanks for the replys, i'm not too bothered about waht it has on it, just want the soft case as the hard case is a pain to lug around with a Peli 1510, monopod, laptop bag etc when you're going to a match.
i'll look inot the thinktank ones, could be the ideal solution.

Canon used to send there L lenses out in big leather hard cases so moving to soft pouches must of saved them a lot of money!
http://discofealey.co.uk/canon_350d/IMG_1753small.jpg - 70-200mm F2.8 L (NON IS - 1997 Manufacture).
However i have never used this either!

I used have similar lens case for some of my FD system (they weren't free but not that expensive) I used them mounted on a belt for a while. This must have been long before Lowepro street and field kit et al.

So, being always curious about camera bags, I've been trying unsuccessfully to find a Domke lens bag, much less a 300mm version - can you show me a link to it?

Thanks for the link - I thought B&H listed the whole catalog of all of their vendors. These aren't shown in their Web site.

They're not on the Tiffen/Domke web site either. I believe they've been discontinued officially.
