Anyone used an Airport Addicted for international travel? It is an inch too deep and long but is it squishable enough if it isn't stuffed full of gear?

Looking for the biggest backpack that one could overload for US travel but still work on international flights.

Thanks

Usually, if you tell the flight attendant/security that it's camera gear...even if they give you a problem about the size, they'll usually back down once they realize it's expensive and fragile.

I'd say go for it and don't worry about it. I have never in my life had to put my bag into the stupid metal frames that show the allowable size (and to be honest, I bet it wouldn't ever fit anyways). Just carry it on like you know what you're doing, and you shouldn't have a problem.

Lastly, some airlines even have policies that allow you to get around size and/or weight restrictions as long as it's for camera equipment. might want to look into that if you're particularly worried about a specific flight.

I've been traveling with either the Airport Addicted and Airport Security. I've never had a problem getting in aboard an aircraft. Hint, arrive early, be relaxed and act like you know what your doing... and most of the time they won't even notice you.

Read the carry on size and weight restrictions and be certain that your bag fits easily into both limits. Often you can get away with a little over size and bags are hardly ever weighed, but there are a few places where both are checked. At Heathrow in London I had to check a slightly oversize bag that went through security everywhere else and at Entebbe in Uganda I had a bag that was slightly over-weight, but was not checked because it looked small and I carried it like it was weightless. Other people with full size bags had theirs weighed and had to re-pack some items into checked baggage before being allowed into the check-in area.

If you fly much , put the old carry on tags on it . I put the one from my wife's make-up kit on it and they generally say " You have to put our tag on it " .
By the way , I carry those address labels you get in the mail and just put one on the luggage tags they supply .
They just think you have done this a lot and if they say something their manager will over rule them , so away you go .
