DIY Wired Shutter

hi does anybody know an idiots guide to making a wired shutter release.
the cable i think is a 2.5mm jack?!?

and the model is: RS-60E3.


ive read quite a few tutorials and i cant really make heads or tails of these things!

if anyone has made one, can they show some images and post some tips, or a step-by-step guide etc?

Problem is, i suck at soldering, and i got one for my birthday anyway :lol:

They are fairly simple. The link above can't be much simpler.

Otherwise get a copy off ebay for £5 like I did, does the job and can actually work out cheaper than ordering all the bits, not as fun, but cheaper.

I made my own, it worked out pretty good. Used a long telephone wire we had in the basment.

the hardest damn part was soldering the wires to the jack, everything is so small, and the sides of the jack are plastic, so i kept melting the damn thing

but in the end if works perfectly :)

yeah i used to do electronics at school so i know how fiddily it can be.

infact im still part of the school because i got my A level exams that start tomorrow!!! aghhhh!

so i should be able to buy the parts off them lol

My after market verion from e-bay works fine on my 350d. Reasonable quality.
