I am currently carrying the bulk of my gear in a Lowepro backpack which works great most of the time. I am going to Europe with my daughter for a two week trip and want to be a little less conspicuous. I am looking for a shoulder bag that can safely hold the following: 30D with grip, 100-400 F4.5-5.6, 17-85,Tokina 12-24 and 430 EX flash. I have been looking on-line at the Domke and Crumpler lines but am unable to put my hands on one here in South Louisiana.
Do any of you have any suggestions about a bag you believe would work for my needs?
Obvoiusly will have to put some batteries, CF cards and miscellaneous items in the bag, but nothing of any size.

Take a look at the Domke F-802 Satchel.

Hey Jon,
You certainly know your bags. :D
Which Domke would be best for the following:
5D, 100-400, 24-105, 17-40, 24-70, plus flash cards batteries, etc.
The 24-105 would be attached to the camera while in the bag.
Thanks.
BTW - I'll be getting the F-1X when I want to carry all my gear. Thanks for that advice as well.

F-2 with the -230 insert. BTW - you'll probably need to remove the hood from the 100-400 to put it into any of Domke's inserts. I just slip an Op-Tech neoprene lens cap into the hood and stow a small lens in that. The -230 insert is the same one you'd use in an F-802, and will allow you to stow the 100-400 (with or without camera attached) on its side in the bag.

Ah, yes, beautiful, functional bags, but man they are expensive. I'd have to see on in person before spending that kind of money.

Not exactely "in person", but here you go:

The 335 is over 8 years old, and still in great shape.... Not to expensive IMO.

Your picture is the next best thing to seeing one in person. Thank you. Now, it's either the Domke, or Billingham 335, or the 445.
Have you ever had difficulty carrying your Billingham as carry on luggage? I'm wondering if the 445 (certainly large enough for my gear) would be more problematic in that area than the 335.
Thanks.

I did take the 335 as carry on a few years back.
Never tried it with the 445... I don't fly that often ;)
