They have these for 40 dollars, which is cheap.

Are they less secure? Do I need to watch out for data corruption?

I actually have one of these cards and it seems to be fine... but I learned recently than cheaper ones can be less secure.

I've got a 2GB one which causes my 300D to reboot if the buffer gets too full, but it's fine in my S70. I've never tried it in my 30D.

I have a 4GB too (cheaper in the UK than US for a change!!) and had zero problems with it. However, I tend to use my smaller 1 and 2 GB cards more because 4GB of images is a lot to lose if something did go wrong. Same logic would apply whichever brand I was using.

In daily use for me and I've never had a problem with it. I'd certainly buy another one. Fine value for money.

I too purchased one from 7DayShop, but recently took a batch of images in great light and at really nice location, and got home and the card was corrupt. Tried several different pieces of software to try and get the images but all failed. Now the card isn't even recognised at all.

So from a personal viewpoint, I'm not happy - but I'm sure most of them will be fine (as attested above).

I've got one of these in my 1D mark II, I seem to think it's kinda slow 1.5mb per sec ?, both for reading and writing other than that ok, I'm hoping to buy a 4gb Ultra II (£36 from 7dayshop) so will see how they compare.
