I meant the title to say "a" stuck grip, not "s" stuck grip.
I just bought a bunch of gear from a buddy of mine. I want his BG-E2 grip, but it is stuck and won't come off. The wheel just spins when you try to loosen it. We're guessing that it may be stipped. Any ideas how to get it off without sending it in. I'm getting a good deal on it, so I really hope to get it off.

This sounds a bit drastic, but sometimes works. Please exert great care when trying this as if you get brutish, bad thing could happen. Anyway if you suspect a stripped thread, insert 2 flat blade screwdrivers between the grip and camera on opposite sides. Have someone exert just a bit of pressure but not all that much. Then try to unscrew. Sometimes this is enough for the threads to re-engage.
BTW, if you try to screw it back in, does it eventually seat or does it also spin forever?

Sounds like the plastic thumbring has separated from metal screw, it would take a lot of pressure to strip the thread.

That's kinda what I was thinking.

If it was my problem i'd drill through thumbscrew into metal center with small drill bit (1mm) and insert a jewellers screwdriver of same diameter and use this to loosen.
