Hi, could anyone please provide me with the model number of the wireless remote control for the D30. I have visited the Canon web site, but gave up in the end.

hi...
yes i miss my wireless remote too : ) one thing missing from the d-30...
so the info:
wired remote is either:
TC-80N3 (timer remote controller)
RS-80N3 (remote controller)
and the WIRELESS remote:
LC-4
this link takes right to the page at the B&H photo website
(the price ($379) may make you choke...and i imagine from looking at it that you lose the use of an external flash since it appears to mount on the hot shoe...anybody out here know how it works?)

hope this helps...

Thanks for that. I had best get writing to Santa Claus or rob a bank.
It really is something that I could do with to enable me to get a better DOF without all the blurr.

hi denise...
i have the wired remote (rs80-n3) and the 30 foot extension cable...it really helps (because the wired remote is only 3 feet long) between the two of them...like a little over $100 and i still get to use my flash : )
make sure there's no cameras around when you rob that bank : )

Hi, Denise. I've got the TC-80N3 Timer Remote. While the wireless feature is nice, it is not required for my personal needs. I love the remote timer because its build quality is outstanding, performance is flawless, it's very simple to use, and the lighted lcd is a Godsend to those of us who don't see as well as we used to. YMMV. Good luck to you.

if you are not afraid to 'remotely' control your camera from a PC or notebbok it may worth to take a look on this: http://web.axelero.hu/rugo100/rc.htm
(Any comments /+ or -/ are welcome)

I have both the TC-80N3 (timer remote controller) and RS-80N3 (remote controller) and find I use each about the same ammount of time. For simple, <30" shots, the RS-80N3 works great. For shots longer than 30 sec, the TC-80N3 is invaluable. I no do not need to keep track of the time or a stopwatch. If I could only buy one, it would be the TC-80N3, hands down.

George, it looks like that software is for the Powershot cameras, and the original poster was asking about a D30.

i ordered my wired remote yesterday for my 20D. really would like the wireless, but that is alot of coin.
will have to look into this extension cable though as that might help a bit as 3ft is pretty short. biggest reason for a remote at all is my natural shake. not big but it is there.
thanx for the info on the extension cable.

I built my own wired remote for £10, $18ish.
2 micro switches, 2 1/5 mm stereo plug, cable and a small box.
works a treat, 1 button for Focus, the other for Shooting.

It was shipped from China so I suspect that they would ship one to the US.
If fact I think quite a few forum members have them.

I'm decided on the TC-80N3. Just want some verification from people that this works with my 20D....
