View Full Version : The perfect camera strap?

After buying 4 or 5 different camera straps and not being happy with any of them, I have finally found the one that works for me. It is simply a piece of 550 cord looped through the strap eye on the camera. It does not get in the way of the controls, it can be custom fit to the length you need, and there are no buckles or plastic pieces to break or scratch your camera.

I guess that'll work, I just use the POTN strap without the shoulder piece as a handstrap.

Just showing us the ropes... testing whether or knot it's a good idea. I won't bight though, might lead me astray. I've come to grips that I can't handle bad puns like that.

I think you reached your bitter end.

Sorry, I'll tie not to keep going. This will be the end of the line. Consider this the end of the thread.

The POTN strap is the perfect strap (with the exception of a small piece of webbing that I’ve mentioned in another thread to hang the RC-1 on.)
It even helps support this forum.

can you post a pic of the way you have this set up? I've been waiting for the elusive POTN handstrap to come available. Need something and I'd rather be supporting the Forums than purchase one elsewhere. My hands are rather small.

What do you mean? Just take the center POTN shoulder piece out and join the other two parts. Then you can put your hand through the loop and hold the camera. Normally I just leave the shoulder/neck strap on though... but I have used the short ends as a hand strap.

I have miles of 550 cord laying around. I could start making these commercially and make a fortune.

LOL.

If security and low price is the advantage of these homemade straps, we could use cable ties or zip locks (or whatever USA calls them).

Good strap idea. If you like to drink and shoot......tie one on.

As the bowline with the unraveled end said, 'I'm a frayed knot'

Have Fun,
